Their dolls made with glittering obi cloth represent various eras and have a story to tell.
All dolls are made by hand, even the body, crown and costume.
They express a view of the doll's world by using obi cloth for dress material and genuine stones for accessories.

The doll which the husband and wife team work hard together to reflect the beauty of Buddha statues.

Mrs. Kiyomi Hisatomi produces the Taisho Roman and Ancient princess dolls by mainly using old obi cloth.
She started making dolls during her teen age years. However she became fascinated by the old dolls in her 30's, so she put her heart into doll making using old cloth with new creations.








画像5.jpgMr. Yukinobu Hisatomi has started helping his wife since eight years ago. He makes the body and accessories, such as crown and neck ornament, now.
She has finally come to realize that Japanese Buddha statues are wonderful and THE best beauty is Buddha statues through encounter with many books and dolls.
They display a picture of "Miroku Bosatu" at Koryu-ji Temple, is her best example, in their workshop and have a strong spirit that they will produce dolls which represent the beauty of Buddha statue and have people relaxed.



Kisshōten

吉祥天.jpgLaksmii is a Hindu goddess and Lakshmi was introduced to Buddhism.
In Buddhism, it is the wife of Bishamonten,
It is said that the mother (Kishibojin) Kishimojin, even as a father.
Kisshōten, also known as Kichijōten, Kudokuten , Laksmi, Mahasri or Sri-mahadevi is a Japanese female divinity.
Kisshōten was worshipped in Japan from the eighth century as the goddess who provided abundant harvest, good fortune and happiness.

Oiran

Oiran were entertainers in Japan.

An Oiran had got many skills, the traditional arts of sadō (Japanese tea ceremony), ikebana (flower arranging), and calligraphy.
The Oiran were considered a type of yūjo "woman of pleasure" or prostitute. However, they are distinguished from the friendship in that they were entertainers, and many became celebrities of their times outside the pleasure districts. Their art and fashions often set trends among the wealthy and, because of this, cultural aspects of oiran traditions continue to be preserved to this day.
